Onomatopea
A new independent publisher that prints every book on demand needed a website that sells its books, without the cost of running a shop.

What I delivered
- Website design, from page structure to final look
- A catalogue where each new book is added by filling in a form
- A page for every book, styled with colours from its cover
- Pages for authors and illustrators, linked to their books
- Newsletter sign-up, cookie consent and search-friendly pages
- Care and updates after launch
Where they were
Onomatopea Edizioni is a new publisher in Turin, founded by an author and editor with thirty years in the industry. Every book is printed only when someone orders it: no print runs, no warehouse, no waste. It launched with 15 titles in 25 editions.
What they needed
A website that makes each book worth discovering, explains why the zero-waste model matters, and sends readers to buy on Amazon. It had to be ready for the launch, and easy to update as new books come out.

The homepage on a laptop
Every book gets its own landing page
Readers usually arrive on a single title from social media or a link the author shared, so each book page does the whole job: cover, price and a buy button first, then the story, the details, the author and reviews, and a second buy button at the end. Each page takes its colours from the book’s cover, so fifteen books never look like one template.
New releases without a designer
Each book is a simple form: title, format, price, pages, ISBN, author. Publishing a new title means filling it in. The page builds itself and the catalogue filters update automatically.
The people behind the books
Comics are made by teams, so writers, illustrators and colourists each have their own page, linked to everything they worked on.
Ready on day one
Newsletter sign-up, GDPR-compliant cookie consent and search-friendly pages were all in place at launch.

The site structure, planned in Figma
Live with the full catalogue in under a week.
- Live in under a week, with the full catalogue from day one: 15 titles, 25 editions, 26 contributors.
- A catalogue that looks like a bookshop, without the cost of running one: readers go straight to purchase.
- Adding a new book is a form to fill in, not a design job.
- Kept on for ongoing care, with a sales and royalties tracker planned next.
